Best Sailing In Greece

when is the best time of year to go sailing in greece?

im looking into a trip for the beginning of May. I found one that takes you sailing around the Greek Islands but i don’t know what the weather’s like. any advice on weather?

The weather will be nice, not too warm and not too cold in May. It will be too cold for swimming! May is the beginning of the sailing season, so there won’t be too many boats in the marinas or anchoring. Take warm sweaters and sailing gear as it will be cold out in the sea. But you will need T-Shirts on land and on days with no wind! The Meltemi will be blowing though, especially strong in the Cyclades. My favorite season for sailing is September as the sea is still warm for swimming and it is before the October storms. Be prepared for a basic lifestyle as you won’t find many marinas with facilities!
