Challenge Sailing

Ever thought about learning to sail?
Bangkok nearest yacht base is Ocean Marina Yacht Club, located about 15 kilometers on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya, towards Sattahip. At Ocean Marina find a number of companies that offer a fun and exciting day visiting the beautiful and pristine islands off the coast of Pattaya.
But If you are the type of person who wants to be a participant instead of a spectator, why not teach them what it takes to move and drive a boat?
A word of warning: Once you take the challenge of learning to sail, may well become a consuming passion that takes over your life.
Thus that, "Where to start? There are generally two options:
1.You can learn to navigate experimentally by simply leaving the crew with the equipment competition in running events take place monthly at the Ocean Marina.
2.You can enroll for a course or courses at a sailing school.
The option sailing school is the most popular, so focus on this approach. Raises a number of questions and I hope we will be able to answer some of them.
How choose a sailing school?
If you're starting from scratch or continue training in sailing, is very important that you choose a school that meets their needs. This choice is difficult for the new sailor as you will have little or no direct experience to base your decision on. Therefore, you should evaluate all its options and make questions of the schools contacted to ensure they can meet their needs.
Your prospective schools must be accredited by the International Federation Sailing, with guidelines on the establishment of schools and facilities that should have.
Basics
Yates – You must ensure yachts that the school uses are appropriate and in good condition. Make sure not too many people in the class, so you will always have more things to do to watch and wait your turn.
Instructor – You have to be sure that qualified instructors who have completed approved training programs internationally.
Courses – Ensure that the courses are appropriate to their level and the level of sailing to be achieved.
Certification – The certification issued must be recognized in the geographic areas in which it intends to use them. Ask about international accreditation – once you have passed the certificates to be accepted internationally?
Code of Ethics – Does the school have an ethical approach to deal with you as an individual and help you reach your goals?
As far as training programs go, there are two basic types of curricula now used internationally.
The first began teaching sailing boat type live-aboard crew to move from skill acquisition pattern.
The second, which I support, teaches surfing in smaller yachts and covers all the basics of navigation and decision making. As their increase in the levels of certification, so do the size of yachts and the distances covered.
This plan was initiated in the U.S. and the United Kingdom and is replacing the former in a number of areas.
The student-teacher reason for concern has been a lot of sailing authorities, due to rapid growth of commercial sail training. Obviously, a yacht carrying six students makes more money than a boat carrying three at the same price or similar.
Unfortunately, however, students get on the boat only half full time instructors and others. In these days of Headsail furling and labor-saving devices, there is an optimum capacity of students, more than this is not in the interest of the student.
Another concern of the authorities of candle is the very question of what it actually achieves certification. Simply presenting the certificates of completion indicates that it is of interest to anyone. Each student should not automatically entitled to a certificate.
Only students who meet the test components, and in view of his teacher, competent and confident in their level of certificate must be certified.
Sailing takes practice. For the benefits of training to be maximized, all the skills you learn should be practiced over and over again. In all advanced levels of training, time practical experience is necessary.
