Where can I obtain certification Sailing and Canoeing in Long Island, NY?

I want to apply for a summer job at a summer camp, which includes navigation and conoeing. And the U.S. gave a Power Squadrons Boating Course. including sailing and Power Boating. I'm not sure if that counts as a certificate for navigation, and definitely not for kayaking. Where in Long Island, NY I search and / or take courses in sailing and canoeing? Thanks
