How did Galadrial get the light of a Silmaril in a bottle?

It’s the “light of Eärendil”. Eärendil is a mariner who sails in the heavens with a Silmaril on his brow so his light is that of the Silmaril.
So just how did Galadrial manage to catch this light.

It’s not clear from the books. You need to remember that Galadriel was one of the few remaining elves in Middle Earth who had seen the light of Telperion and Laurelin, the two trees of Valinor. The 3 Silmarils had been fashioned by Feanor who was the half-brother of Galadriel’s father. It is entirely possible that she retained some of the skill of her uncle, and there by was able to capture just a portion of the light of the stars.

Galadriel had been in Middle Earth from the very beginning of the 1st age. She was very skilled in Elven magic and very learned in Elven lore.
