Seriously, when I’m old. I’ll sell all my crap, move to Panama buy a boat and spend the rest of my life enjoying the sub and sailing. I’m pretty sure for 1M you can rent and live for the rest of your life.
Or how about this business model. Buy a 1M cottage. Create a web site, advertise it as a luxury mansion. Have a couple people rent and support you.

They do have some deals for people from the US to retire there and a few other latin, central, America countries. They will give tax breaks on property and import taxes if you bring your money down there to live. I read they only required you to prove you had an income of at least $500 a month.
Search “International living” for some ideas. But watch out they sell lots of stuff.
