old sailing boats

Thinking that Rusty Jon boat my father built 33 years ago just brings me back to being a toddler. He had no boat plan Jon, you just spend hours drawing and reworking his own idea of what will be built. A whole year of making mistakes and learning from them is what it took for him to complete his masterpiece. In the end, gave me a great childhood memories of being out of the lake fishing from sun up to sun down with dear old dad.

Now that I am an adult with a child of my own. My boy and I love fishing more than anything and really has brought us closer to 8 years of its existence. Feels Like that the great times I used to spend hanging out with pop. Unfortunately my father Jon boat is no longer with us today, so just sit on the side of the lake and throw outside our lines. One night after leaving the pier with a few bites and no catch to show for our efforts. I told my son, "How would you feel if we had a ship of ours? "With a big smile on his face, said:" Really Dad! We have a boat! "He said," Yes, son, but there is only one catch, you have to help build it. "From then began a project born of a father of a lifetime.

I remembered what the wrong time my father was the design of the boat. It took numerous tries to remake its dimensions and receiving advice from a friend who was a builder local boats before they finally got it right. I could not even tell you how much material was lost in the first 7 months of production. I knew I wanted to do this right the first time with so little bumps in the road as possible. I wanted the boat to be producing a soft ride for my son and I with the technological advances of today I knew I had to be some way the team could help us.

After you find the right program I found one that did just what we needed to make our boat building simple Jon. Took me a while to get used to the interface, but within a fraction of the time it took my father to design a boat that had a deep comprehensive plan we have designed Jon boat ourselves. With the trouble the way it was time for the fun part, the production!

Over the next few months, my son and I spent every weekend together at the start of our new boat garage with sleep. I was not about to let my little friend handle power tools, but apart from that was a big help and keep the dream alive. I was so excited and tell anybody he met that he and his father were building a boat together. This in turn kept me excited I could not imagine the two sitting in the middle of the lake drinking root beer in the winding only in the fish.

Finally, after months of work and dedication we have finished our little boat impressive. We have been in the lake almost every weekend from then. There is even enough space on the boat for mommy to come too. It's really nice when we get the whole family in the water. Means a lot to me to be able to do for my son what my father would do for me as a child. It really sends shivers down my spine.

Designing and building your own boat can truly be one of the most rewarding experiences in life. It will save you hundreds of dollars and the overall feeling of gratification can not compare to anything money can buy. If you’re interested in designing your own Jon Boat Plans or really any type of boat you desire.
