Sailing Charters Florida

Do I have to have a liquor license sailing a chartered boat off the coast of Florida, Atlantic side?

If you are selling or serving beer, wine, liquor… Certainly you do… YES!
You will be in big trouble really fast if you do not… And I mean bigger than your boat – fines, forfeiture of your vessel, etc. These people don’t mess around.. and they will not accept ignorance as an excuse.

A charter boat registered in Florida must follow the Florida laws… and Florida has several different types of licenses… ie: 1 COP, 2 COP, 4 COP etc… meaning whether or not you want to sell beer, beer & wine, are the whole range of beverages, and whether or not you are serving food are not – also is a consideration…

On Charter vessels, some of these licenses are restricted based on the size of your vessel… ie: I do not believe you can get a license for selling or serving more than beer or wine unless your vessel is big enough for 125 people… (but that may have changed.)

Florida has consumption-on-premise license, and some of these are quota licenses (only a limited in number throughout the state).
