Long distance cycling with daughters.?

Hi, maybe someone has experience or inspiration……
My wife will be studying abroad in a couple of years and my daughters and me wil be left home alone. Our daughters are at present 6 and 9 years old and we are both 34 years young!
When she go’s it will be for a year in Sweden, we live in the UK. Whilst she is away I want to do something to mark this time that I have with my girls!
We love to travel and have spent time in Scandinavia but I would like for them to spend some time in other parts of the world. So far we have owned a small 4 sleeper sailing boat with the idea of working upto something larger and sail around the Med during the year, but we found that it was just to much of a “job of work” to travel that way and so I would be looking for another simple and cheep form of transport.
This spring have been doing more cycling and am now thinking of a Cycle tour with tents, of some sunny parts of Europe, maybe 3000-5000 km. If anybody has some words of wisdom, Cheers Ben

At 6 and 9 your girls will be limited in the distances they can do each day, but many people cycle with children and there are many people with experience.
If I were you I would google till I found blogs or travel diaries about it.

I know some Dutch holiday companies offer parents and children holidays, even single parent and children holidays, but you might be better of searching for an English company.

I am no parent but I remember many a Sunday afternoon and often a Saturday spend on the bike.

But remember that traveling with children and a tent you will need to have a trailer for all gear, you will have to do most of the work alone. A holiday by bike is way different from a few days in the weekend.
