Neagh
Located in the heart of Northern Ireland, Lough Neagh is the largest lake in the British Isles, covering 388 kilometers squares. Five counties of Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down and Tyrone have coastlines along the Lough Neagh and six rivers flowing into it, while the Lower Bann River flows northward from the lake. Many local people earn a living from Neagh, activities such as fishing, sand mining and the tourism industry. The lake even has its own place in the Irish mythology, closely related to "The Legend of Fionn Mac Cumhaill. Neagh is also very popular in terms of recreation, with activities taking place regularly, such as fishing, boating, canoeing, water skiing, jet skiing, fishing, etc., is particularly popular with a variety of fish such as trout, bream, Rudd, roach, perch and pike.
Lough Corrib
Covering a total area of 200 square kilometers, Lough Corrib is the second largest lake in Ireland. It is located in the west of Ireland in County Galway and County Mayo and flows into the River Corrib which flows into the south of Lough Corrib through Galway city. Set in the beautiful countryside of Connemara, Lough Corrib is particularly known for its abundance of wildlife such as otters, mink, frogs, hawks, etc. and is excellent for birdwatching. Lough Corrib is thought to contain a total of 365 islands, many of which are full of houses and ancient ruins. Fishing is popular on the lake and boat trips are readily available. In recent years, Lough Corrib has been at the center of a major pollution problem water.
Lough Derg (Shannon)
Lough Derg is the third largest lake in the River Shannon and is among the counties of Clare, Galway and Tipperary, all of which have coastlines on this lake. The lake itself covers 118 square kilometers and a large lake would be considered long, measuring just less 40 kilometers in length. Not to be confused with the Lough Derg in County Donegal, who is best known as a place of pilgrimage. Lough Derg (Shannon) is sometimes referred to Ireland as "Pleasure Lake" because of the beautiful scenery, quiet, and the variety of activities to engage in These include diving, fishing and many types of boating (canoeing, sailing, sailing, etc.).
Lower Lough Erne
Lough Erne is composed of two separate lakes, Upper Lough Erne and Lower Lough Erne. These lakes are connected by the River Erne, and are located in the northwest of Ireland, in County Fermanagh. Lough Erne contains 154 islands, and is described as a paradise for the "historian" because the ancient ruins that are present in many of these islands, some of which date from the 6th century ยบ. Boat trips are available in these islands can be explored at will. Lough Ree
Lough Ree, the second largest of the three major lakes in the Shannon River, is located in the central region of Ireland and is part the border between the counties of Roscommon, Westmeath and Longford. The lake serves as a throughway cruise along the River Shannon and has an area of 105 kilometers, the same size as the Lower Lough Erne. Lough Ree has numerous islands, some of which are important in Irish legend. For example, Inchcleraun Island are believed to have been the place where Queen Maeve was killed by her nephew Furbaide. Lough Ree Yacht Club is well known, who claims to be one of the oldest yacht clubs in the world, dating from 1770, when it was founded. Other popular sports include fishing Lough Ree to surf.
