artist Hayalund, shipw/sails painting 35yrs old 98$ sale from int. galleries in chicago can i retire(lol)?

Sorry, but there is no listing in any of the three Internet artist search databases I used for any artist named Hayalund. Which means you may have misread his name wrong or his work hasn’t become collectible.

As to Interior Galleries Of Chicago, they sell paintings by the boatloads from ‘artists’ in Europe and Mexico, offering them in ‘Public Artists Sales’ around the country. I’m sure you’ve seem these advertised: Original Framed Oil Paintings starting at $39.95.

The artists hired to paint these decorative paintings aimed at tourists whip out as many as they can during a week’s time because they are paid by the painting (in very little money by our standards). As far as I know they never sign their real name to the paintings they do. And how much Interior Galleries sells them for depends on the size and style of the frames

However, this is not to say that our artist named Hayalund hasn’t made a name for himself with his own original art. But if he has chances are he’s doing so using his real name.

Anyway, how valuable a painting is really is up to the person owning the work. If you enjoy hanging it on your wall, it you personally connect to it in some way, if you simply like the painting then that should be all that really matters, right?
