1) Who goes on the cruise?
Although this issue should be easy to answer, can influence the type of cruise line and ship finally choose.
If you and your partner wants to take a relaxing cruise, there are many ships are aimed at couples. In fact, some cruise ships or even actively prevent people from taking the children on board.
If you will be cruising pair, it is also important to consider the situation room. On ships with assigned seating, you must specify the size of the table you want. However, in many boats, tables for two are scarce, so if this is an important issue, this may influence your choice of cruise line and ship. Just make sure clear that it fits your travel agent or cruise line when booking.
On the other hand, if you want to take their children or travel with the rest of her extended family, There are certain cruise lines and ships cruise lines that are tailored specifically for family holidays in mind.
2) How you have to go?
You can find a cruise vacation to fit almost any budget. So before going further, it is important to know how much you're willing to spend on their vacation.
But as a rule, you will need to set aside at least $ 150 per person per day to cover the cost of your cruise. However, larger vessels of more luxury cabins can cost many times this figure.
However, it is possible to get more for your money if you;
a) Book early: Most cruise lines are willing to give generous discounts When booking your cruise of 6-12 months in advance.
b) Paper late: Similarly, if you book within 2 months of sailing, most lines cruise will give large discounts to fill the remaining cabins.
3) How much time do you have?
The number of days you want your vacation to last determine the type and location of the cruises that are available to you.
If you have only a few days, the main option is a cruise port. This means that the ship leaves the port sail around the sea / ocean for two or three days and then returns to the same port. The vessel not calling at any port, but give it a couple of days at sea. This is a good way to get the feel of a given cruise, or cruise in general.
If you have a week off This gives you more options. If you live in the U.S., you are given the option to Hawaii, Alaska, Florida, Mexico or even a Caribbean cruise. If you live in Europe, this will give you access to the Mediterranean, North Africa, or even a nordic cruise.
Alternatively, if Increasing the numbers of places available, you could fly to and from the start / end location of your cruise or take a cruise in one way or flying to the location start or return home after their landing.
If you have two weeks or more, you can cross almost anywhere in the world.
4) What time of year?
The time of year that you take your cruise will have a significant effect on two issues;
a) The Price: As with all forms of travel, your vacation will cost more during the high season. In contrast, most cruises are cheaper in the spring or fall.
Traditionally, winter is considered high season for Caribbean destinations, but due to the weight of supply and demand (people who have to make your holiday during the summer) the costs of summer are almost on par with the cost of a winter Caribbean cruise.
b) The sites available: The time of year that you take your cruise will also determine the places available. Although this does not make much difference to the better known places like the Caribbean or the Mediterranean, some places have a different cruise season.
If you want to go to Alaska or northern Europe, the main cruise season lasts from May until September.
For Antarctica, the season is even shorter, which runs from November to February.
Although seasonal tropical regions throughout the year, there is a wide variation in rainfall throughout the year. Places like the Caribbean will have less rainfall during the summer and more rainfall during the winter months.
And last, but not a restriction as such, some people prefer to avoid places likely to be affected by the hurricane season. If a ship Cruising is a storm that will alter its route to avoid, which means you can miss certain places he wanted to visit.
5) What part of the world want to visit?

The number of days you have to define your holiday choices, but beyond that, taking into account issues such as;
If you want or take their vacations at a particular time of year that places are available?
If you want to use a cruise line certain places that make their vessels visit?
