What do I have to do to get to the U.S. Olympic Sailing Team?

I have 16 years and have been racing sailboats for the past three years. I put in last summer 15/58 Jr. Olympics, and my dream is to reach the Olympics. I'm getting a little discouraged looking at the resumes of Olympic sailors in the Olympic Games in 2008 because at my age they were winning championships in Europe. I just want to know what steps I can take to get from where I am there. My plan is to go to a better yacht club next summer, but what I do after that? I want to participate in international races, but do not really know how I could participate. I have two more summers before college, and I do not know how I can use them for my advantage. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks so much!

In the U.S., each sailing class at the Olympic Games has its own qualifying races. The team of Olympic competition is consists of the winners of the qualifying races for different classes.
