During the months summer, winds prevail in Saint Lucia from 10 to 20 knots from the northeast. The winter will see 15 to 20 knots generally from the east. The trade winds are consistent and do a car ships, at any time of year a pleasure.

Marigot Bay offers a pristine and untouched landscape. You may recognize Dr. Doolittle Marigot Bay decade 1960 film. Although it has undergone significant changes since then, the beauty remains intact. Marigot has security 24 / 7 and is a port of entry on the island. Located here is a first class resort and spa, and many yacht charter companies. Opening to the Caribbean, Marigot Bay is 20 minutes south of Castries, capital of the island city, 45 minutes south of Pigeon Island National Park and 60 minutes north of the majestic Pitons.

Rodney Bay is a lagoon well protected and a good yacht anchorage. There are many opportunities for stores, fuel and water, boat repairs and everything a sailor might need possible. Even drop-off laundry service is available. Rodney Bay is also a customs checkpoint and the marina offers tie for this purpose. The ground operation is not the best in the lagoon and many sailors have informed by dragging the anchor in the middle of the night. Some of the best beaches are just a short boat ride away. There is also a car rental agency for those who want to spend the day exploring the interior of St. Lucia. Visit Pigeon Island National Park which is home to Fort Rodney, an old British military base. Do not miss the incredible Friday night "Jump-Up" in Gros Islet in Rodney Bay. The most popular drink in St. Lucia's rum punch, also called "Rocket Fuel, "" Jungle Juice "or" The Baby Maker ".

Vieux Fort is located in the southernmost part of Santa Lucia. It is the second largest city in the island and a popular anchorage for yacht charter. In recent years, a new modern part of Vieux Fort has been erected, however, if you walk by Clark Street and surrounding streets, will still see what is known as "Old Town". On Friday walk through the open market where you can buy products premises, such as fruits, ground provisions and spices. It is also home to the largest fish market in St. Lucia where you can buy some of the best and tastiest fish in the world, from coral fish to tuna.
