Britain's wealth of picturesque villages on the coast and the beautiful rugged coastline means that sailing in Britain is never boring, if this is your first circumnavigation of Britain or the fifth. The route you take will be determined largely by the anchors of your choice and cities to be visited en route. The waters of the Solent, with Southampton in scope to the north, Portsmouth Harbor on its shores and sheltered by the Isle of Wight, is a good sign. From there, the prevailing south westerly wind probably dictate that you run in an anti clockwise direction to Edinburgh, rather than visiting for the first time the dramatic west coast of Scotland.

The Solent

They also support populations of puffins, seals and otters and are required to see the dolphins, while in the water.

Tinker's Hole on the Isle of Mull has been voted one of the anchors of the best in Britain. It offers all the houses round the yachts and magnificent views, sandy beaches and a cave that can be explored by dirty.

Northumbria

Northumbria in northeastern England has some great and interesting sailing Santa anchorages. island offers a perfect retreat for escape to sailing, while in Britain. It has an attractive, historic town called Lindisfarne and an imposing castle which is above the cliffs. The Farne Islands off the coast of Northumbria is home to the largest populations of many coastal species in the UK, such as puffins and gray seals are the ideal location of animals and birds lovers. There are two good anchorages around the islands named Pinnacle Haven and boiler. The islands also have a very interesting cultural history. Â

Sailing in Britain allows intrepid explorers the opportunity to escape city life and explore the places that are completely out of the beaten track and is also a perfect way to see the best of Britain.
