World Map Sailing
Do you think that the Bible would have been worded differently if Science back then was advanced as it is now?
This should be Question 27, but I’m done with that.
They used to measure things with the length of their hand, outstretched arms, noselengths, and distances walked, for Christ’s sake. Would it not be possible that the only reason the Bible sounds so unbelievable is because the understanding of certain complex concepts was not present with Humanity back in the days of Moses? Once upon a time, Europeans thought the Earth was flat and if you didn’t sail off the map, a Serpent would eat you. That may as well had been the case, because no navy was strong enough or had the support necessary to sail around the world or even to North America all the way from Europe. Now, they know that the Earth is round and they have stopped killing anyone that says otherwise.
So, in conclusion, do you think that the Bible would be worded differently if it were written by a person that knows what a corporation is, or do you think IT would read like the script to “Star Wars 7″, too.
I definitely think the bible would read differently if the writers had a grasp on modern science. They were being blessed with insights that were overwhelming; it would have helped to have a constant frame of reference. It would also be easier to translate if more of them could have spoken openly and not in protective code. I’ve often wondered about just what Revelation is trying to describe… it’s too bad more weren’t artists as well.
